Congratulations

John Crawley

Welcome to The John Crawley Benefit Year 2008 Website!

It is my great honour to be Benefit Chairman for Hampshire’s John Crawley. A Benefit is awarded by a Cricket County as recognition for service and commitment to the game. Whilst ‘Creepy’ has served cricket as a model professional since 1990, it is his sustained high standards of batting that are recorded most prominently in the history books.

Over 50 caps and 2000 runs for England sit atop a First Class career stretching back over 18 years with a batting average of nearly 48. Technically very correct, John Crawley is recognised the world over as one of the best on-side players in the game, a tremendous player of spin whilst possessing an exceptionally fluent cover drive. As recently as 2006 John topped the County Championship First Division Averages with 1737 runs including 6 centuries.

This website details the many ways in which you can support John in 2008. We have arranged a wide series of events around the county of Hampshire and beyond, aiming to appeal to as many of his supporters as possible. In addition there is merchandise, some memorabilia and a photo gallery for your consideration and enjoyment.

John enters the 2008 season as still one of the most respected batsmen in the land. A family man living near Salisbury who together with his wife Kate and two children George & Ellie richly deserve a successful Benefit Year.
